October 15, 2009

Duke employees in and around the Smith Warehouse have a new location to grab a coffee or a bite to eat.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 19, Saladelia Café will open up a new location in Bay 6 of the Duke building at 114 S. Buchanan Blvd - the first eatery at Smith Warehouse. The café will offer a variety of entrees and coffee drinks that can also be found at Saladelia’s main eatery on University Drive and The Perk in Bostock Library, which Saladelia also manages.

The new café at Smith Warehouse will be open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Prices range from 94 cents for a sesame dessert bar to about $8 for a salmon garden salad. Along with daily specials and homemade soups, sandwiches and wraps all cost about $6 and feature items like Mediterranean roast beef on focaccia bread or a falafel pita. Other items on the menu offer lasagna, quesadillas and burritos, which can be prepared for vegetarians or come with meat and are all about $5.

Coffee, espresso and cappuccino will also be served, as well as pastries.
